Biography

Katherine Fawcett is our Project Recruiter for Biotechnology. Katherine brings considerable research, technical, and scientific knowledge and expertise to the GRN Cleveland Westside Biotech team. She attended Virginia Tech where she achieved dual B.S. degrees in Biology and The Science of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise as well as an M.S. degree in Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise. Katherine continued her education by achieving a second M.S. degree in Molecular and Nutritional Biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University as well as a PhD in Nutrition and Cell and Molecular Biology at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Katherine’s extensive education and research has molded her into a strong, dedicated and innovative scientist in a diverse array of fields, including biology, nutrition, metabolism, and food science. As a Research Assistant while achieving her PhD at Virginia Tech, she developed a facility and expertise in animal experimentation, cell lines and transfections, in vitro assays, complex molecular biology procedures, and the transcriptional control of body weight regulation. At GRN Cleveland Westside, Katherine combines her innate communication and interpersonal skills with her scientific comprehension and savvy to successfully identify, attract, and recruit High Impact Talent in the Biotechnology field.

In her spare time Katherine enjoys the three “R’s,” not reading, writing, and arithmetic but rather reading, running, and relaxing. She cultivated her intense love for animals growing up on a small farm in Iowa. Today, she treasures her dogs Kujo and Tamu, her cat Squirrel and of course, her boyfriend Lee.
